Medical case reports are an important part of the advancement of medicine and for clinical scientists to develop publication skills. Many journals no longer publish case reports and in their place, “predatory journals,” which charge hundreds of dollars to publish a case report, are common.
USF Health’s IMpact Academic Case Reports (IACR) is a new initiative to publish high-quality case reports at no cost to the author. Physicians, nurses, therapists, dieticians, social workers, students, and other health care professionals, are encouraged to submit their case reports for peer-review. The review process is blind and comments are returned to the corresponding author to determine whether the article needs revision or is acceptable for publication in IACR.
Authors are encouraged to visit IMpact for assistance to write and prepare manuscripts intended for publication.
Please note: manuscript submissions are only accepted from authors from the University of South Florida Health and its affiliates, James A. Haley Veteran's Hospital, Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital, Lehigh Valley Health Network, Moffitt Cancer Center, and Tampa General Hospital.
